Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe (born August
26, 2002) who is professionally referred to as Lil Tecca, is an American artist
and rapper. The success of "Ransom," his 2019 single, allowed him to
become a household name. His debut mixtape We Love You Tecca (2019) included
the hit single. It peaked at 4 on the US Billboard 200. It also contained
singles Love Me and Did It Again. His debut studio album called Virgo World
(2020), debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot
100's top-charting tracks "Dolly" as well as "When You
Down". The second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August
2021. It included the songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" as
well as others. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on August 26, 2002, in the
Queens neighborhood of New York City to Jamaican immigrants. He was born in
Queens in Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe later relocated to Cedarhurst in
Long Island. Sharpe was a young man with plans to be a basketball player, but
he switched his focus on music when he turned twelve. Sharpe attended Lawrence
High School. Tecca was just nine years old age when he began rapping over his
Xbox. They would make tracks of diss directed at one another and one was
uploaded to SoundCloud many years ago. However, it has since been taken down.
At first, he did not have any plans to pursue a musical career although he did
dream of becoming a NBA superstar. But, during his middle school years, he
resigned himself to basketball and was contemplating taking music more
seriously. The first track to become famous, "Tectri", was made in
collaboration with Lil Gummybear and released in early 2017. Tecca also
released "Callin" in the same year, which was one of his first
tracks. Tecca's career took off a year later when he released the smash single
"Ransom" that was uploaded to Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade YouTube
channel in May 22 in 2019. The song peaked at 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts
and has been played over 900,000,000 times on Spotify and more than 300 million
times on YouTube.
