Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix, is a minister who was ordained by Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a elementary school teacher at Balboa Magnet. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident from the moment she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks, after her very first tryout. Felix completed high school and signed a pro-contract for Adidas. In 2004, she enrolled in her first year at the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. A year later Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making a junior world record by taking 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to win the 200 meter race. She defended this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top third of each of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
